what exhaust? need the whoosh!!
Hey all,

I am looking into upgrading my exhaust to a full stainless Razz but very importantly i want the whoosh noise when changing gear!! Twisted Evil I've had a BAS remap and she runs well but want that noise and the engine to breathe that bit better.
What exhausts have you fitted and what were the results? currently Griffin are at the top of my list.

larger intercooler is on the list after the exhaust

I have a 2.4 TDCI

Buy the intercooler and make the whoosh sound with your mouth.

You will need to loose the cat to get any noise out of it. I had griffin, didnโ€™t get much from it to be honest.

Much preferred my Alive system that I had on my Td5

I've had my eye on the Alive one for a long time, but the time is coming that a want will turn in to a need.
So if I was going for one that'd be my choice. No Guts, No Glory.

The want you refer to turned in to a need for me just last month as all the exhaust mounts rusted until the exhaust was only held on by two... Shocked Shocked I went for the Griffin cat back (so centre and rear sections) system and it replaced the straight through centre section and standard 110 rear section.

The difference is amazing... The straight through centre system, as was, droned fantastically at motorway speeds and gave an exhaust note on hard acceleration that basically scared other road users... The Griffin is a much more civilised setup that does not drone as much at motorway speeds, burbles nicely at tick-over and gives an amazing cherry bomb style roar and burp if you are in the mood.

Performance-wise... nothing noticeable.

I love it. When the down pipe goes, which will not be long as the hanger is rusting through, I will go for the Griffin down pipe too to complete the system.

Funnily enough I recorded the exhaust sound for a friend. If anyone is interested I will pop it up on youtube for you.

I already have a TF centre straight through section, but the fit is not great really. Seems to be the flanges looking more iffy than anything. No Guts, No Glory.

I bought a full de cat Twisted exhaust for my 2.4 after seeing this video 6 years ago! Makes a great noise for a transit engine! Also had it remapped by Pete Bell and it drives lovely!
