^^ Thanks for that info. In this country the regular genuine LR clutch parts alone will cost already £1300 or so. Rolling Eyes
Will check posses with my dealer next week after they will open up the truck for surgery.
Is this also a good occasion to see the state of the drive shaft, and needs be renew that, or just grease if still ok, or replace by the greased Ashcroft version? (I think it is Ashcroft who make that self-oiling version, yes?)

Ok, new clutch done. Dealer installed a full clutch kit (part nbr LR048731), also a new clutch slave cylinder (part nbr LR068979), and a new slave cylinder adapter (LR068981). The latter was a must to do as the design has changed since my truck was built. All genuine parts obviously. Works a treat again, and sofar no rattling springs. Laughing
The good thing is that having gearbox and transfer box off and separated, it allowed dealer to check all drive shafts, and there seems zero wear on all that, and also no red dust as so many later Defenders seem to suffer from. Everything that could be greased was greased again in the process before bolting it all together.
Hope I'm ok for the next 88.000 KM. Thumbs Up

Clutch Chatter when released
Hello - I am hoping someone can advise me please. I have noticed when I release my clutch when my Defender is out of gear there is a chattering noise - it’s worse when cold. Is this normal?
Regards,
Jonathan

Have the same issue when hot. Brand new friction plate. So unless you have further symptoms I would not worry.

Beyond the Censored design I still do not know why no one has modify the splined hub plate so there a protrusion inside the outer springs. In this way springs would not fall from the disc. Im not a friction plate designer so maybe Im just taliking bs. Puma 110" SW

are you sure it's not the gearstick rattling on the shaft? Mine was near silent after I had a new clutch fitted.
