Respray cost I would imagine will be similar to mine at about £2,000 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

How many times was yours painted? My dads has been re done in the past. But not that well sadly, his is a darker colour than mine. But my dads made things worse, by jabbing at filled holes with screw drivers and weak areas causing most of the bottom panels, where the seat box bolts on to disappear, So the rear tub will need a rebuild or a replacement. Not to mention the damage he has done with the lift jack My mum spends money trying to tidy it up etc, dad does the opposite Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

Mine was all original paint before the respray and was taken right back before the respray. It's all been high build primed, base coated then had 4 coats of lacquer.
There is nothing worse than a poorly executed paint job as it can be very time consuming to put right Best thing to do it tackle it panel at a time 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon 1990 Vogue SE Triumph Tiger Explorer 1200 Td5 90 Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic50767.html Tdi 110 Thread https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic69562.html RRC Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic54492.html Instagram http://www.instagram.com/george_grafton |

its getting some where decent too, That are willing to do the work properly, where I live grafty, Most of the garages have a really bad rep sadly for not doing stuff properly. Id take mine to my local coach works as they deal with insurance right offs etc. Sounds like you have more paint on it now than it did when it left land rover! Yeah it's hard to find a decent paint shop.
I think landrover would have made the amount of paint on my defender stretch to 3 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon 1990 Vogue SE Triumph Tiger Explorer 1200 Td5 90 Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic50767.html Tdi 110 Thread https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic69562.html RRC Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic54492.html Instagram http://www.instagram.com/george_grafton |

Finally today (nearly 3 weeks after changing the coolant) I managed to get the last bit of air out of the coolant system on my defender. It was being VERY stubborn!
Symptoms were no heat from heaters at anything below 2k rpm. (Also false over heat displayed on dash once) no matter how much I tried the heater matrix kept holding onto some air. Today I took the output hose off the heater matrix whilst it was running and managed to get the rest of the air out so I now get toasty air at tickover Also a quick clean Click image to enlarge 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon 1990 Vogue SE Triumph Tiger Explorer 1200 Td5 90 Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic50767.html Tdi 110 Thread https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic69562.html RRC Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic54492.html Instagram http://www.instagram.com/george_grafton |

My rover metro grafty was a right bitch for bleeding! I think I will have to do the hose pipe trick with the 300 when I come to change the rad. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

No mask respray, just wipe off the headlights and windows!
Forget the white letters, go for white all over If changing the radiator I would also see if you can find an in line bleed screw to mount in the output hose of the heater. Good for future coolant changes too. When I install the webasto I shall be doing exactly that 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon 1990 Vogue SE Triumph Tiger Explorer 1200 Td5 90 Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic50767.html Tdi 110 Thread https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic69562.html RRC Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic54492.html Instagram http://www.instagram.com/george_grafton |
