Allisport bling!
In hindsight a little premature lol, but you gotta love engine bay bling! Bought the allisport header tank and power steering fluid tank Click image to enlarge And the piece de resistance! the most stunning bit of aluminium work ive ever seen. A pucka allisport NAS/50th radiator with twin oil coolers (one for engine, other for an autobox or even the manual box with a mod) and twin elec fans. Another lump of cash for just that bit then. Will have to wait till my fuel pipes are sorted 🤔 |

Restoration therapy? Its nice when you can get some rusty bits and restore them nicely. almost therapy!
This instalment is all about bulkhead ancillaries. I had already undressed the bulkhead and am getting each bit and basically restoring it, painting etc before putting it back on. The general process for those interested is:- * Take it all apart, remove all bolts and fittings. Throw the bolts unless they are special ones. * Drill with various wire brush attachments. Gets any thick rust off and cleans it at the same time. * Dinitrol RC900 rust converting primer on all surfaces. * Seam sealer specifically for the heater box to seal it. * Rustbuster Epoxy 1-2-1 paint. Love this stuff! its epoxy so goes off quick even if its cold out. brake box. Yak. Found a stress fracture in the vacuum servo! no wonder the brakes weren’t fantastic! Click image to enlarge pulling it apart Click image to enlarge Post-rust buster, Pre-paint, after seam sealer applied. Stainless fixings all ready to go! Just read from start to finish - looks great! Are you painting the bulkhead and chassis, or leaving the galv showing?

Leaving it all exposed galv. Think that in combination with the exposed ali here and there will look well. Unpainted Ali floor, and unpainted polished seat box too 😂
Most of the cab will be covered with the exmoor trim rubber cab set. |
