That looks fab, and the Alfa is a little ripper too. Nice garage. Monsieur Le Grenadier

Some legit garage goals right there
Yours is the first defender that I don't take serious offence at having a gloss rear cross-member. Really suits it! Suppose I'll be the only one rounds here with a Bahama Gold defender then / Can't help but feel it'd suit a pair of not so legal black plates and some heritage flaps...? You know, I never even considered satin finish for the cross member and in hindsight I suspect it wont stay as shiny as it is now too long lol.
Ive had the same thoughts about black metal plates I did think about the heritage style mudflaps but think it might be a bit OTT tbh, less is more and all that. I also need to urgently mod the passenger side one as my exhaust is quickly melting it! |

Did the inaugral road test in it last weekend, engine playing nicely. some more tuning to do but driveable. brill!
The downside.... major graunching and noise coming from transmission, jumping out of hi/lo, generally very very unhappy. Turns out my front diff has decided to destroy itself after 200 yards..... ffs. Dont know how but the pinion is no longer supported by its bearings and is flopping about..... what on earth could cause this? only thing i can think of is that ive got different ring gears front to rear (they were built from bits to hand). ever had this? |
