Hi LRA, I know your concern and thanks for the advice, I was going to stick with standard bolts but these are the ones sold by YRM for the locations I am fitting, they are graded at A4-80 which matches the metric grade of 8.8. 90 wolf - Jasmin http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic39408.html

Okay after my little trip away I've managed to get a few hours in on the V8, it was rubbish weather so I decided to tackle the engine, I have spent some time cleaning it but I think it's a longer process yet
The gunk I have removed from the heads/rocker covers has been mental. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge It is amazing what a bit of Tlc can give you, a few more hours and it should be clean enough for some paint, then once built and fitted the test fire will no doubt coat the thing in oil and grime and the natural balance will be restored 90 wolf - Jasmin http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic39408.html 90 V8 - Maggie http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic42564.html 110 TD5 - Buggsy http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic59029.html 52HG25 lightweight https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic72342.html D3 Hse - Fiona Capri 2l S - Anna Think I might have a problem............ |

Not too sure on the mileage I will have a rummage in the box marked x to confuse the enemy my speedo is hiding in it started as a strip/inspect then some funds freed up so I bought a few upgrades to fit, for now I'm not removing heads/pistons as the cylinders still show honing marks.
The black sludge I think Stems from a few missed services and the time it's been stood still, the sump oil was still fresh when I got it. 90 wolf - Jasmin http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic39408.html 90 V8 - Maggie http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic42564.html 110 TD5 - Buggsy http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic59029.html 52HG25 lightweight https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic72342.html D3 Hse - Fiona Capri 2l S - Anna Think I might have a problem............ |

Okay a little bit of a boring update as pics of cavity waxing are far from exciting but with two litres pumped into the chassis I think I have covered most of it, my endoscope should be back in the uk tomorrow so I will have to check.
Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge One things for sure this chassis should last me a long time even in Guernsey 90 wolf - Jasmin http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic39408.html 90 V8 - Maggie http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic42564.html 110 TD5 - Buggsy http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic59029.html 52HG25 lightweight https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic72342.html D3 Hse - Fiona Capri 2l S - Anna Think I might have a problem............ |
