Hi Retroanaconda, yes the mounts are the same and it’s the original box etc, was just wanting to confirm as you do have some adjustments with the mounts having the elongated mounting holes to the chassis, don’t really want to tighten it all down and find I’m a few mm out on the engine install. The axles have been swapped for 110 Wolf axles which I believe is the same as a p38 diff, I will have to hunt for the rear prop and mount it to check alignment
So next update: With a rough date of needing it a moveable condition by May 19 I do really need to get a move on so last weekend was a day it started to take shape: Click image to enlarge The old bulkhead is now fully stripped and the majority of metal parts have been cleaned and painted: Click image to enlarge Out with the old in with the new: Click image to enlarge You can make out the year of manufacture is 1987 so both wheel boxes were original fitment, shame to change them but the are rough and notchy. Favourite tool this week has to go to the sand blaster for turning bits like this: Click image to enlarge Into this: Click image to enlarge Hopefully some good updates to come over the next week or so once my gaskets etc arrive 90 wolf - Jasmin http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic39408.html 90 V8 - Maggie http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic42564.html 110 TD5 - Buggsy http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic59029.html 52HG25 lightweight https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic72342.html D3 Hse - Fiona Capri 2l S - Anna Think I might have a problem............ |

Totally agree Clayton
Well it’s been a busy old week with some right jobs, nothing’s been simple and easy, oh well now it’s the weekend and I have time for Maggie So today was a few quick jobs, using up my little delivery of L/R gaskets and seals surprising how quickly the total adds up in your basket So what I managed to achieve, steering box that has been overhauled (well cleaned and painted) as I snapped 3 sets of circlip pliers trying to replace the lower seal so I guess Maggie will be one to mark her territory fitted brake and clutch pedal boxes, fitted 4 out of 6 bolts to my throttle pedal as 2 holes don’t line up (a-?-e strike again ) so not too bad for an hour or so tinkering, more to do tomorrow. Well I do apologise for my absence, life has been getting in the way of my Land Rover time, well rebuild time that is, I have clocked up close to 1000mi in just over a month in the 110
So now I’m am back for a very short period and then off back to Guernsey for Xmas so this is the only update I have on Maggie So I have managed to find a few hours to tinker and have succeeded in producing a fully steering chassis Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge I have also made a start on painting the wings, they have been primered and received their first top coat, not happy with the finish so wet and dry with another coat should give me the right finish. Cheers James not on a home run yet though, still have the seat box back to strip and repair before paint, oh and the fuel system to fathom out as original pipes are shot and you can’t get them now, then there is brake lines, coolant pipe work etc still it could be worse, I could have 3 defenders and a Disco to keep me busy 90 wolf - Jasmin http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic39408.html
