i have a tow bar and rear bumperettes [the twin tube type] for one reason only..........car park shunts by other people and the visual deterent that if they do hit you they are likely to come off worse Twisted Evil BM52

If only you had mentioned it a week ago, my bro could have bought a set back after he was back here for Christmas. I am sure some company will post on to you.

Have you thought of a different make, just that the bracket work for the BA290 doesn't look that solid. Or maybe http://www.devon4x4.com/index.php?page=sho...;Itemid=14. They will deffo post worldwide.

Hi all,

I've received the BA290 I've ordered but it won't fit my 90 apparently because of the mudflap brackets placed directly on the rear cross member on the 90...

Question Did anyone successfully got these on a 90 without removing the mudflaps? Or should I cut the bumperette somehow?

This doesn't really help unless you are sending them back but the safari equip ones are like that only they have a slot for the mud flaps. You could have a cut put in them by a professional unless you know what you're doing.

Problem with that is if he drives offroad the chances are it could rip due to the cut. Just trying to argue for no reason since my suggestion was the difficult way, and therefore rubbish Rolling with laughter

Multiple layers of canvas impregnated with rubber. Almost indestructable.

Rear bumperettes are very useful. Protects your rear end when a vehicle runs into the back of you. Also they protect the rear body panels if the vehicle steps off a rock.

Not all rear bumperettes are compatible with swing away wheel carriers without modification to the bumperette

The cheap rear bumperettes are not necessarily compatible with swing away wheel carriers.

Please note that the bracket design on the Safari Equip is stronger.

The Safari Equip One is 6mm steel, galvanised and then powdered coated.

Whitbread one? No details on web site

Safari Equip do them for 110 and 2 versions for the 90 with/without slot for mudflap.

@ Leeds: do you know whether the SE ones are compatible with the Mantec swingaway carrier? they look like they'd be competing for the same holes on the crossmember. One that started out as a 2.4 TDCi 110 XS

Some photos of the Bumperettes fitted to my 90.

I cut the Mudflaps to fit the angled side protector.

Used 10mm thick spacers to allow fitting with the bolts used to secure the rear seat fittings - didn't want to interfere with those.

However, I couldn't fit the 4th bolt - but they are very firm and I don't use them as steps so they should do their job of protecting the rear in parking shunts.

Simple answer is that I do not know.

The SE spare wheel carrier utilises the two bolts which attaches the rear tub to the rear crossmember. I do not know how the bottom bracket of the Mantec wheel carrier fits.

Photo below shows the cheaper rear bumperettes fitted to red 110.

Note we had to modify them as they were not compatible with the SE wheel carrier

Note the score line on rear panel where we stepped off a rock in Sweden and bent the bumperette upwards. Would have done some damage to rear panel without having them fitted

Also cheaper bumperettes are not galvanised so rust

Black 110 with SE wheel carrier and bumperettes. Note these two items work together without modifications. These bumperettes are galvanised and when the powder coating gets knocked they don't rust
