I couldn't believe it myself at first sight, but yes, it is real and very well documented.
He is typically driving between 100.000 and 120.000 km a year and in the back he keeps more or less his whole practice and office - even with a water tank and electrical pump fitted for cleaning after operations on the field, really weird to see all that stuff in the back. Before he got this truck, he changed almost once a year his car. It started with him wanting to know what a Landrover could do and so he wanted to keep it until it breaks, but it simply doesn't. No issue with the truck, it was and is just rollin'. He states the secret is "they are built to keep 'em running, not let 'em stand". But keep in mind, it is Kilometers and would convert to 447k miles - not that unusual for a Landrover. Never forget: cars have owner, Landrover have field service personnel. |

Maths is my strong point "not" but if hes had it for 7 years and hes used it every day thats 280 km per day! Mind bogglingly reliable ........does he have a troup of little friendly bogarts or brownies in the bottom of his garaage that service his car when hes asleep?not even an injector problem? |

This one is one of the overpowered breathtaking maniac veterinarians working 10-12-14-16 hours a day, often 7 days a week, permanent emergency night shifts because customers can call 7x24 on the mobile (when I was visiting there was no night without 2 or 3 night drive outs). Yes, the truck is serviced by a school friend of his, who has a garage, and I suspect they do the oil change while flying . No joke, last time I was there his friend came for supper and between dessert and cognac they made an oil change. And no, not even injector problems, it is still the first set. Never forget: cars have owner, Landrover have field service personnel. |

Any hints on how to solve poor fuel economy? Used to get 24MPG then got as low as 14MPG. Replaced fuel filter, MAF and recently the EGR crashed so it is new. Even with it went back up to 17. I have a ChipExpress and was getting 25 with it before the economy dropped, so now have disabled until I can resolve
Any help appreciated from an American "workin" in Saudi. DesertPuma Stationed in KSA 2008 Defender 110 1997 Defender 90 2006 Defender 110 PS 2.8 |
