My 2p worth... It's not been seen as it does not exist yet.

My guess is that the new defender will be based on the disco 5 on the same way the disco 5 is based on the new rr sport. Once the new disco is launched then they will probably start on the defender.

Plus the new Slovak factory where it's probably going to be built is not even started so no rush to start building peoples expectations.

Square it off a little and I don't actually mind the DC100 as much anymore. Just needs proper wheels& tyres and a long wheelbase:

If they built something like that yellow 110, Then in these days of health and safety nanny state engineering I'd be happy enough.. Yes it's not really a Defender as we know it... But it never can be can it...

The defender as we know it is dead.

Land Rover's main goal now should be to build the best4x4xfar again. Something to beat toyota/jeep and cement land rover's off road status again.

If it can be utilitarian and have some design cues from the current (old Big Cry ) defender then even better. Cheers, David

The farm I work on has had a Land Rover since 1948. We've had Series 1, 2, 2A, 1ton, 3, 110 and Defender; and multiple varieties of each. Each bought because it was the best vehicle for the job at the time.

We currently have a 2005 110.

I would be disappointed if there wasn't a Land Rover product for us when it comes up for replacement in 5-10 years time.

Even if the defender station wagons move upmarket a bit, I hope Land Rover make a fantastic pickup version. Something to rival the Amarok and hilux at the higher end of the market... Cheers, David

You had a 1-Ton? Do you mean a 101 or an actual 1-ton? Sorry to go OT, just curious. 2011 110 USW
