Removed rear prop and pumped grease into UJs. On end ok the other has full movement, but grease not getting to the furthest bearings from grease nipple. So got hold of some GKN UJs ready when theystart to cause issues.
Found a small weep from rear output seal on T/fer box so purchased a new one and replaced. Click image to enlarge Then replaced the output seal on rear salisbury axle which has been leaking for some time. Again with Genuine seal. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Then refitted prop with new bolts and nuts and took for a test drive. Thankfully job well done as no leaks after a good run Last edited by Romadog on 25th Jan 2016 7:05pm. Edited 1 time in total |

Drove 350 miles to see some flat coated retriever puppies in Ipswich.
Defender was brilliant and apart some rough patches on the A12, ride was smooth and comfortable. |

I have been getting a load of jobs done to my 110 that I've been wanting to do for a while...
First of all I've installed my front and rear Anderson connector harness (from Goodwinch) to allow the use of my detachable winch set up at either end of the vehicle (or jump leads etc): Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge I also changed the wheels from the original Boosts to black 'Wolf' wheels (detailed more in the Wolf wheel thread about the balancing issues! ). Click image to enlarge I also removed the Tomb Raider side steps in preparation for my rock siders arriving next week... The steps will be for sale in the For Sale section soon if anyone is interested. Winched a very stuck Toyota Hilux out of a field full of wallabies.
Always nice when you have to help the Japanese. |

Got the rear chassis primed and painted after having the x-member replaced. Looks better with a coat of black paint than bare metal.
MOT time tomorrow 1999 Defender TD5 110 Regards John M0VAZ Econet Station 48 no clock |

Picked up the 110 from MOT - passed. One advisory - Oil leak (suspect this to be the half moon at the rear of the rocker cover) 1999 Defender TD5 110

I'm very happy with the performance of the Wipac Crystals, I've got Osram Night Breaker bulbs in as well to get the most out of them I'm sure you'll be happy with them.
