Anyone else curious about the new oil sump, oil pickup pipe, & oil pump outlet pipe.

What do these parts say about the change of design and the reason for the re-design in the first place?

Especially curious about the sump and what changes they have made to that.

Have just checked on Topix and it looks like mine is due too Sad
With regards to the oil service message, mine came on at 10 months old with only just over 8k on the clock so must have been triggered by the oil dilution value.

mine is an early 2.2, and Euro5 of course.
Registered 3/12 and VIN is SALLDHMP8CA41....

So if the vehicles in question are of Vin Range: LD405037 - LD443988 ..... I wonder if my pump is failure proof or Iīm just considered of of warranty from JLR ??

landybehr - you're in the VIN range for the recall, albeit you might have a couple of those letters in your VIN crossed over.

The white 90 is in that range too and strangely enough when I started it on Wednesday a message flashed up on the dash saying oil service. I've never seen that before Question
They will be getting a ring tomorrow.

Don't panic that's a normal message and just means the defender needs an oil change Thumbs Up

I would seriously hope it doesn't - it went in for its 3rd service a fortnight ago.

Booked in for April 13th Rolling Eyes
Apparently it a q recall not a p one or was it the other way round which according to Leslie in the service department means its not a safety issue so they don't send out recallls - they just wait for it to go in for something doing and then it gets checked and done.
As for the little message apparently it's a software issue that doesn't completely reset the service countdown

Barbara - I think you been subject to a little bit of dealer Censored there on both counts.

The info posted on Topix shows a template letter addressing the vehicle owner and states "Call us or your preferred Land Rover authorised repairer without delay".

Good that they appear to have the parts available on not too long a lead Thumbs Up

Where did you ring - my dealer in Wakefield has gone away to check and I'm still waiting for him to ring me back.
