The outlet on a Freelander 2 fuel filter cartridge appears to be the same as the one required. With a bit of inginuity and a bleed bubble (rover 25 diesel?) should be possible to make something for very little cost.
Does anyone know the easy way (apart from paying someone else) to change the oil filter on a F2 without getting warm oil down your arm? ![]() |

Hi, I've bought a bleeding pump on ebay (http://cgi.ebay.it/DIESEL-ENGINE-FUEL-PRIMING-PUMP-/110475636037?pt=UK_Measuring_Tools_Levels&hash=item19b8dc6d45#ht_2098wt_912) the male connection has the same dimension of the land rover tool, only the transparent rubber pipe length is shorter. But I have a doubt, can you explain me which is the correct direction of the fuel in the pump???? In my pump the direction is from the male to the female connection (there is an arrow on the pump..) while in the AndrewS post, I’ve understood that he take the fuel from an external tank and pump it in the fuel circuit across the male connection. this is just a problem of my bad English ![]() Ciao Lorenzo |

Ciao Lorenzo, your pump is correct!!the flux is from the male to female.
You must pump the fuel until there are more bubbles! ![]() Defender 110 Td4 SE MY 09 |

Did you fill the new filter with diesel before replacing it? |

Just finished the job with the bleeding pump.
There is no need to have any connector on both sides of the pump: - female end goes straight to an empty container - initially I have tried male connector but I could not have a good sealing - end of the pipe changed to 10 mm (outside diameter) solved the problem - fits there with perfect sealing Janusz www.yahodeville.com |

Did you try putting the filter back without doing this bleeding thing? If so what happened? |
