One of my pet hates too Ray. Mine are no better but my c pillars are a mess as well. I want to take the sills and pillars off for galvanising at the same time as doing the panel but I use it daily.

Where did you source the panels and how much? 2002 110 td5

Thumbs Up I've decided the best way is just to buy new parts so there's no corrosion to deal with before making them bomb proof so sills will probably come next (although I've been thinking about rock sliders lately) i was looking at prices on brit car which are about £45 per side for genuine as non gen have a funny cut out at the bottom which I didn't like. In the end someone put a pair up on ebay that finished at a funny time so I got both sides genuine for about £30 Mr. Green but with powder coating and zinc at another £30 then paint etc I'll be in at about £100.

I didn't even last one day being at home with the four kids (all girls) on half term before I had to de-stress and go and buy something for the defender Big Cry so a quick trip over to see Brendan resulted in some stainless goodies Mr. Green

So this week when I need a break from the never ending arguments I've got a nakatanenga bolt kit, stainless sils, x-trouser door catches, two lighter sockets and stainless vent flap pins to fit!

New cubby box arrived today to replace the very tatty one so the interior is getting nearer. I figure I'll have a brand new defender buy the time I'm 50 at this rate Rolling with laughter

Need the kids to go back to school now so I've got some time to fit my new bits

So bought these genuine panels

And I've decided I don't want them corroding again so I've dropped them off at the powder coaters to get them blasted, zinc coated, then powder coated and when I get them back they will get painted, properly sealed to the car then dinitrolled so I hope I won't need to do that job again Rolling with laughter

Could you take photos of the process when you get round to doing this please? looks like im going to have to do the same to mine Big Cry

Think mine will be new in 5 years. The bills are getting scary. Good job its the best car in the world. Faith restored after doing 200 miles in it in 2 days. After a rough few weeks of maintenance. 2001 Td5 CSW (weekend and snow mobile) Plenty of lights, M/T tyres EGR delete, roofrack, swing away wheel carrier, snorkel.

First job done with the cubby boxes swapped. As you can see the old one is rather tatty!

Mine came with a nylon bag with velco on the back, maybe that could be fitted there?

Left it too late today so only managed to fit one of the new stainless sill trims from 4x4 overlander. But have to say they are great quality, come with all bolts, anti seize paste and fit perfectly Thumbs Up

Rears in too now and just like the fronts the fit and finish is perfect. The only problem now is that the check strap mounts now look even worse next to the nice stainless Big Cry so I need to buy new ones of those now. I'm going to have to set up an account at Brendan's Laughing

Evil or Very Mad rather annoyed today!! I've got a job to do on the defender soon so have been gathering bits to get everything done at once, one thing I decided to add while the front was off is silicon hoses so I ordered them 4 WEEKS ago as they don't keep them on the shelf (I wanted black ones so they don't look boy racery) they turned up today........ IN BOY RACER BLUE Big Cry so now I have to wait for them to make some more which will be about 4 weeks Rolling Eyes

Rant over

As I do mainly road driving I decided to give anti roll bars a try as when I got the 110 it didn't have any on so today I've fitted the front bar and I'm just waiting for the brackets for the rear bar so that can go on in the next week or so. I'll report back if there much difference when both are fitted.

Thanks for looking

Ray Thumbs Up
