Hi everyone,
Any idea of the tightness of the drain and filler plug on the diff (nothing in the manual)? I am sure it is a tapered fit but not sure how tight it should be. Any contributions gratefully received. El Pepe Flamenco JLS 'El Pepe Flamenco' |

I can't find any spec anywhere, even for a series LR. Just don't wind the plug all the way into the diff, that's a real PITA!

Thanks, all, for your help.
Will approach the tightening up with caution! El Pepe Flamenco JLS 'El Pepe Flamenco' |

Front drain and filler plugs are 60nm (44lb ft) according to the workshop manual, rear is not specified.

In the Defender manual pre Puma it gives 55-64 Nm or 40-47 lbf ft. It would appear that bob neville is bang on. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel
