just a thought about the 2.4 being holomogated for the military etc.
are all the LR 2.4 puma's fitted with solenoid injectors? presumably a change to the 2.2 could still retain the solenoid injectors and are these really more robust than the piezo jobbies? I believe my wife picasso has the piezo injectors and has no problems running the last 2 years on pure home made bio and several people on here have had injectors replaced possibly relating to fuel contamination (fuel tank breather issues). I know the hard core with 2.4 / solenoid inj will swear blind thats the best option but surely a 2.2 with less emisions similar power and piezo injectors would be better? - especially if the road tax was £200 cheaper? |

I gather this engine isn't going to be 'on-line' till mid 2011. its going to include a dpf (particulate filter).
ford trying to standardise their range of engines apparently. |

What happened on this topic, any new rumours? Martin seemed to think 2.2 was coming (and knows some people that know some people), but I see mention of 2011 now?
Can't see DPF in a Defender, not very practical? Its also a very expensive item... |

Off on a tangent, but this is not the 1st time I have heard that they are reclassifying all defenders as commercials, does this mean that the90 CSW will also be a commercial, ie £200 RFL?????

Got date wrong its Jan 2012. Its from Land Rovers own information so I am pretty sure its correct
So its 2.2 or another EU5 lump, or end of the road. Replacement on time? Disco 3 gone but the memory of the bills remain... XS 110 Utility maybe one day..... (did they fix the quality yet?) |

the puma was only ever shelf lifed at 5 years so (as with most models anyway are around 6/7 before something changes) so 07 - 12 is right.
By then the new defender should have been launched. they have been working on it for a while Mike |
