I would have thought for the same power output (And more torque?) the 3.2 would be far less stressed?

and being a 5 pot will just sound so much better than a 4 Laughing Laughing

I don't think they're great at all and neither does a fellow forum member that has one.......and a few others....

Could be though if the 'rev hang' problem could be solved..... Thumbs Up

I know Pete is working on it and hopefully will come up with a cure......there'd be a few more that would undoubtedly darken your door for remaps if that was the case.... Thumbs Up

Hi
I appreciate that the landrover rev hang is not as everyone wants and we don't address it directly with a current remap. Though are looking into making it a little more refined than Landrover have left it at some point as it seems to be what people want.

I know pete is looking In to it , but as I'm sure your aware people don't want ecus opened for a map so why would hey want it opened for something less meaningful and less rewarding
I do also know pete is working very hard daily on a full obd solution but that could be months away yet maybe the rev hang solution would be more interesting to people with the obd solution knowing they wouldn't have to open the ecu 2015 2.2 tdci hardtop xs

Simple answer......and yes if achievable he would go for it before warranty expiry. Surely the prudent thing to do would be to find a resolution and incorporate it into one of your excellent maps and offer it as an upgrade like the recent new map to those that have the 'older' version that still has the rev hang?.....

Ridding the vehicle of the rev hang takes a higher priority for him than the brilliant performance gains I think. I drove his truck and the lack of engine braking and rev hang in comparison to mine is very noticable. I think I could possibly get used to it but as stated he is struggling.
Thanks for the info...... Thumbs Up

So many people want a modern diesel! The rev hang allows the driver to driver the 2.2 like a modern diesel, it does like to rev a little so the rev hang makes gear changes so much smoother, I for one love it, but you can't please everyone all the time.
Thumbs Up You only have one life, live it....forget the cost.

It's supposed to reduce driveline shunt but if people drove Defenders like a Defender and not a repmobile then there wouldn't be any shunt. Anyway this has all been said before but for my part I've held on to my 2.4 for a bit longer as I found the initial lack of engine braking when you first take your foot off the loud pedal in the 2.2 I've tried annoying, it was bad enough when running light but totally not what you want when towing any weight. Steve.

Must confess the rev hang on my new 13my does not bother me.
I drive it like i stole it , so never has time to hang .
It is a strange thing though when you look for it , as it is there .
I spend more time being irritated how noisy the cabin is Sad
