if the following is true

does it mean if a transit engine gives up it ghost
i can replace with one from a ford mondeo or focus say even 2.0 litre engine (Can someone confirm on This)
i am thinking that you may need to transplant harness + ecu and all
assuming manual gearbox is a straight fit and works
like the way we used to transplant 300 to a 200 tdi or a series (except now you may have to move electronics bits also)
