Get the car fully fully hot from a road test before doing a VCV learn and pilot correction.
If it fails jump back to my previous post of its a dead VCV and fit a new one Do remember SDD is unlike other tools and does write data in blank areas of the ecu and so have only a limited number of tries beofre the ecu starts to become full. Turbo arm part number is LR019905 NOTE, after a pcm update the car will want to do a pump learn and pilot correction, if you cant do that now before an update it may cause you problems after also. I did ask a mate of mine ( who has worked on the transit engines for years ) about this when you first posted and he said that valve as well
so worth a try |

Just looked in my paperwork. I've fitted 14 since last august and spoke to many more who have had to have them done.

Pete, are you saying in your post at the top of the page that every time you recalibrate the VCV you are using memory in the ECU and that therefore there is only a finite number of times this can be done?
I have a strange recurring fault which throws up the "pump learn not carried out" error code quite frequently, which I don't really understand. If I do a relearn and clear the fault, all is good for a month or so but then it comes back, almost as though it's lost its calibration data (which I don't think should be possible). Because of this I have done quite a few relearns and if there is a finite number I wonder what happens when it's reached. |

It's been a while since I did the really deep testing and data logging of exactly what was written to what part of the ecu , most of it can be seen in the 2007 puma developement link in my signature.
But that said here is a piece of wording I pulled of Topix in the mean time, can't give more info now as I'm only on the iPad and not my work laptop so don't have an info I recorded here. What I do remember is every time new data was written I could see it in the ecu and every time it was written it was written in a section below the last written part. I also remember having to manually delete some of what was written as I filled the ecu in no time messing around and it would not accept more data until I did this.

If the VCV is out of sync before hand yes. Not normally a dash light on for it though. |
