Wow! Part # LR052893 is only 54 pence each (you need 2) from Dan at Duckworths (I guess VAT and Carriage adds up a bit). I bought an oil filter as well to get the most out of the carriage costs Smile Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's)

Well it did 194 miles with new warranty gearbox fitted and the mod to selector linkage 1 st gear is notchy.
it then leaked all its oil out between the transfer box and main gearbox joint.
Back in to have it fixed now done 256 mlies. Still notchy from 1st to 2 nd when cold when hot its better.
Getting rather tired of this car.
As I write this its been back in at sturgess for another week to repair the damage they caused to the bodywork while they were playing at being a dealership.

Next month its off to marshalls in melton for the corrosion issues. Still no apology from sturgess as to there shoddy service.

I think that once you have a good dealer on your side then that is half the battle won, as far as warranty / service work is considered, I have always had excellent service from Duckworth at Boston, and cannot praise them enough Thumbs Up

Thanks for posting your 'how to' guide. Really clear pics and instructions. I'm well out of warranty and at $140 per hour for labour, I couldn't justify taking it in for this work. (Especially as I already dropped about $1400 this month replacing a broken front diff)
Cheers Sometimes It is better to ask for forgiveness, than to ask for permission.
