thanks Steve and sweepc, I shall find the toughest tape I can find and make sure i give the surface a thorough clean down

the badges are much lighter than you'd think so can imagine they'd stay on fine now I look at them... Cheers, David

thanks Steve, but it can't be worth your time, hassle and money surely... I need a roll of something good for a few bits and bobs anyway so honestly don't worry about it

still haven't 100% ruled out the rivet idea in my head either! i just love the gun Smile Cheers, David

If your sure. Thumbs Up
Just remember if riveted that's it then once it's done.
Previous owner of mine had a ladder on the back and I no longer want it.
Of course that leaves the Rivnuts in there which is annoying, even if drilled out and riveted it'll still be there in a way.

Number plate tape in the end, yeah, and a couple of blobs of silicone for good measure!

Yeah really happy with it, keeping an eye on it in the wet weather incase it decides to jump off but seems good so far Cheers, David

Hi David,

Love what you have done with your 110. I was wondering where you got the boxes to house your 6x9's in the back. Saw them in your initial post and they look great.

Cheers

Ian

bit of an update
So after a great day out on the plains a week or so ago, my defender has finally recovered and i drained most of the mud out of the chassis/engine bay/bumpers/crossmembers/footwells/my shoes etc and got killer90 at CSK's DRL bumper fitted, having removed the old one which was putting up a fight! i posted on another thread but for continuity i felt it should go here, and also have a bit better pic.

BEFORE:

AFTER:

looks a lot 'cleaner' at the front end I think (in more ways than one!!)

I've also bought 4x Cree led spot lamps to fit to the bumper (2 per side, why not!) since the cheaper ebay ones i had had for a while finally started giving up. also gave me a chance to improve the wiring etc on the bumper and from the dash through the bulkhead & engine bay.

these are the lights I've bought..

not exactly expensive but look decent quality, cost me £80 for the 4 and should throw out a decent amount of light. ill wire them up with the high beams using a relay and a switch on the dash too so i can have them off if i don't want them on.

reply to DingoDad:

can't remember the exact boxes i purchased but they were around £10-12 each off ebay and i was going to bolt them down but they happened to wedge in there quite nicely and the friction of carpet on carpet holds them there well. if you ebay search '6x9 speaker box' loads will come up, mine looked most similar to these:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Pair-of-6x9-MDF-...2a27e813f0

any questions just ask (I'm no expert but i try!)

tell me about it! when wet it forms something between clay and cement!

i took the bungs out of the end of the chassis and just pumped water into every hole i could find until the water came out the end clean! Cheers, David

and decided to get the black front end for mine too.

really pleased, and may have to spray them gloss black to stop them going grey in a couple of years time but they look good i think!

just wish i could get some decent photos of mine, always seem to not come out great...

Looks good. I did the samething with mine as, with the exception of a couple of specific colour combinations, I prefer the black front end over the Brunel:

You do, of course, need a black grill badge to finish it off Whistle Darren
