hmmm interesting, ill have a look when i go home this weekend.
but from memory, theres certainly no mild steel around... either way, it seems a good solid piece of kit - but tbh i think most are.. if its a hard enough knock to damage the guard or shear bolts then youre doing something very wrong Cheers, David Land Rovers of all shapes S3 onwards… Daily is a 110 V8. |

I think it's safe to say that if a hard enough knock to damage correctly specified bolts then you're doing something wrong. Otherwise, it's merely breaking something that wasn't fit for purpose anyway. Darren

Brackets are indeed galvanised, didn't look it on pictures but obvious in real life. Cheers, David Land Rovers of all shapes S3 onwards… Daily is a 110 V8. |

this came today...
Click image to enlarge really good quality & looks perfect. Undecided on whether to stick on with adhesive foam tape or whether to rivet, leaning towards tape... can't wait to fit it this weekend either way! 1.20am? Could you not sleep?
I'd probably rivet it or bolt (stainless obviously) it on. If the tape lets go that may be the last you see of it. Which would be a shame. |

I see a local farmer using a heavy duty cardboard box (flattened) and some baler twine to make his own - he claims it's very effective - engine gets up to normal working temp quicker than usual, heater warms cab up quicker and the wind chill out in an open field means the engine doesn't overheat. Wouldn't win any style awards - but it is functional. |

If you use some number plate adhesive waterproof tape it won't come off. And it's thin so no rubbish will get down the back or stick out.
I have a roll of it, your welcome to some pieces of it if you want it. $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R 🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🇮🇪🇺🇸⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰💪 |
