2000 Defender 90 Td5 HT Epsom Green
It was more of a timing thing for me. My family are in Durham so it means that I could spend Christmas there then hit the road...in the right direction!

My wife is a school teacher so it also means I have limited time to do any trip like this. 6 weeks holiday in the summer is a killer if the holidays you want to do are best in the winter!

She want to fly out, I want to take the Defender!

Hi,

Blimey, I was just about to reply and say how lucky you lot are. I had ruled out this type of trip as my wife is a school teacher too!

Maybe it is possible to drive up and pick the wives up at the airport Shocked I would miss the road trip with her though as its all part of it.

My wife is also a teacher but when I broached the idea of going to Nordkapp her response was "well I hope you enjoy it, but if you expect me to go there in that cold then you have another think coming" or that is the clean version anyway!!

Hence now going with a good friend of mine, and some others...

I then started to look at when, I have a big project running in January so would not be able to get any time off so it had to be early February, simple really.

Jason.

Going in winter to Nordkapp sounds fantastic, I think what we are going to do is go to northern Scotland at half term and as it maybe a solar maximum we may get to see the Northern Lights there. And do the Nordkapp trip during the summer holidays.

At this stage last year I kept an eye on the various web-cameras dotted across the country - this is one near the arctic circle

Hi Ray,

Great, that Tarmac road looks treacherous!

Here's hoping for some winter sun when we go.
