Nice job Thumbs Up the actual front end itself does nothing for me but each to their own. Steve.
Owned numerous Land Rover vehicles of all shapes and sizes over the decades.
Current Defender: A non tarts hand-bagged Puma 110 XS USW.

[Insert something impressive here such as extensive list of previous Land Rovers or examples of your prestigeous and expensive items, trinkets, houses, bikes, vehicles etc]

Good to see someone workiong on their own truck and also taking so much pride in it Thumbs Up Awesome job.

As for the grill.....Bleurgh, but hey, one of the best things about Defenders is that you can make it your own.... that way I don't have to have a bling (in my eyes) SVX grill and you don't have to have a boring generic 20 year old grill.

I like the grill, just not on a Defender Confused Sticks out too much and just looks out of kilter with the rest of the car. Reminds me of the old Cybermen.
I'm not in love with the plastic LR grill and light surrounds either. Too cheap and nasty looking and feeling.

Daniele,

Can you post a picture(s) with a frontal view with the parking lights on? If possible later in the day at dusk or so. I have read in earlier threads about these Speakers that the parking light is an extremely small LED at the top of the units. I am tempted to make that change too, but only have seen pictures with either high or low beam on.

Tks, Eric You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

And one more question about these Speaker LEDs with sidelights. I understand that they are properly E-marked, but how do you have to read that E-marking to show our technical inspection clearly that unlike HID lights, these LED lamps do not require self levelling/wash system?
I guess this must be encoded in the E-marking and other info on the lens glass....
Asking this question to anyone who knows the EU rules for this, so also other site sponsors...

The are marked on the external front glass and they are homologated ECE R112, the same homologation of the original bulbs headlamps. This means that you do not need self levelling/wash systems.

Here:

Regulation No. 112 - Rev.2

you can download the UN-ECE Regulation n°112.

and here the addendum

Regulation No. 112 - Rev.2 - Amend.1

Regulation No. 112 - Rev.2 - Amend.2

Regulation No. 112 - Rev.2 - Amend.3
Forthcoming

Regulation No. 112 - Rev.2 - Amend.1 - Corr.1

Last, here the general download page from the unece.org website Discovery 5 td6 HSE Stornoway Gray Outback Engineering Limited Edition

Just home and took a look at the lenses of my clear SVX headlamps. I see a lot of numbers on the bottom, and in the middle in a circle E9. But I see nowhere any sign of the mentioned ECE R112.

How to understand that? Should the ECE R112 be visible somewhere on the glass, and if not, how to know that either my current original lights or those Speaker LEDs are ECE R112 homologated? I want to avoid any issues with our Swiss MOT equivalent.

Still unclear to me. You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

The lamps as Daniele quite rightly says are homologated under the incandescent standards so do not require levelling or washing.

Nice looking lights by the way Thumbs Up Whistle
