I'm hoping there's just too much silver/chrome in that photo and I haven's seen any photos of chromes in more standard vehicles. I've decided on chrome as optically direct replacements for the standards. The blacks look "too cool" for me. Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |

Glass IMHO is the best material, however there has been a lot of scaremongering on forums ironically about the headlmaps being expensive (which is true) and getting broken which is not as true as I have seen / heard of less than five broken lamps since 2009.
So from a marketing standpoint we have moved to PC in order to fix a problem that does not exist The 7" range has around thirty differnt combinations ranging from bezel colour to lens material so we prefer to stock a section of the raange but if anyone wnats a glass lens etc then drop me a pm and we could get a build done. |

See a lot of polycarbonate lenses now, and have the impressiôn that one PC is not the other....
Cheaper Asian cars have dulled lenses after number of years, but more upclass European cars with PC lenses still look brand new after the same time.... Is that correct, one PC not being the other? And if so, the 60.000 dollar question is if J.W. Speaker use the prime quality PC for their 8700 Evolution? You never actually own a Defender. So theroetically, if I wanted the black 8700's with integral marker lights (for SVX fitment) with glass lenses, it might be possible? Pete |

Just checked my wife's VW New Beetle which is now more than 7 years old (6/2005) and has 97.000km.
The Beetle has PC lenses for its main HID headlamps, and not a single scratch, no discouloring, no dulling, as crisp as on day 1.... I believe all VW Golfs since the Golf IV which now goes back even longer than 7 years also have PC lenscovers. I have never seen a Golf IV or younger with discolored or dull headlights. VW of course is top quality, but I can only presume that JW Speaker use prime quality PC too for their expensive LED lamps, so I think our worrying probably is going to prove a non-issue. At least hope so... You never actually own a Defender. Sorry wrong thread! Land Rover Defenders. 67 years heritage, minimal appearance changes, still going strong all over the world. Not a fashion vehicle, but fashionable to own. Made for the needy, not the greedy. Ta ta Defender
