Quite good mileage JohnnyTurbo2002.
Mine in almost 70.000 km have an average of 11 to 10 l/100km depending of the situations but mainly mixed 55% city - 30% highway 15% non paved roads and offroad. Well 132 kph is a quite high speed for a Defender. By my own experience over 138 kph is practically undrievable Cheers Eduardo MY 2007 110 SW PUMA 2.4: Big Fog of 64' MY 1994 Jayco 1207 Folding camper: "El Tremendo" Click image to enlarge |

Here is what i have been pushing out so far:
340 miles @ 25.16mpg (first 270 on grabers then rest on 285/75/16 BFG muds) 50:50 Motorway: mountain roads 300 miles @ 23.4mpg Motorway (UK/France) 20 miles @ 22.54mpg Autobahn (Belgium/Netherlands/Germany)- doing 75/80 So far I am more than happy with these figures as the car was loaded up, and still breaking in the engine. A huge change on my V8 disco which does an average of 8mpg :S Glyn ***EDIT*** I had AC on half of the time. |

Johnnyturbo2002 Excelente español! ¿Donde lo aprendiste? Por aqui en Chile las cosas andan bastante bien a pesar de la crisis. Yes, maximum speed depends of the roads, here we have some goods ones but our speed limit is 120 kph and we tend to keep this as a maximum. By the way, in our case the yield is better at speeds like 80 - 90 kph and we dont saw too much variation between the city and the highway AC increase the consumption lowering 5-10% in our case. Exceeded 20L/100km (14mpg) today driving into severe headwinds for several 100 km's. I'm also towing a 1.5 ton trailer.
Without the trailer I've managed to get as good as 9.7L/100km (29mpg) and that was in very mountainous terrain in Tassmanian a few weeks ago and without the trailer. 110 2.4TDCi 110 300Tdi LROCV ::: AULRO.com |

My fuel consumption seems to be backward?
I get 8.8l/100kms in the City (Sydney), and 11.2l/100kms on the freeway? Has anyone else noticed something like this? |

I guess the figures are the other way around. If so, mine is the same. Puma 110" SW ............................................................. Earth first. Other planets later |

No, what i'm saying is, my car uses significantly more fuel on the Freeway, than it does driving to work everyday on the city streets.
Has any one else come across this? Or know how it might be caused? |

Draymond,
Depends at what speed are you driving in the highway. In our case when the speed is 120 km/hr the consumption is more than when the speed is 80-90 km/hr. Thats maybe the explanation of this behavior. The Puma motor appear to be designed to get his lower consumption at 80-90 km/hr range.
