Finally got as far as replacing the drivers side wiper arm. I had to drill out the grub screw holding the spindle in place.

Ended up just wiggling the stick like mixing porridge and all has been good.

Good time to hover and clean all the bit you cannot normally get at and put back together

I found the culprit of the minor squeaking I had, I though it may possibly have been bonnet hinge or latch or something like that.

It was the rear damper lower bushes worn, again. Rolling Eyes So the pin was squeaking on the hole in the axle, just a bit more play than it should have been.

On a different note, what steering dampers are others using? Mines Genuine.

I’ve often considered a TF RTC one, but it might be a bit close to steering guard on mine I’m not sure and never looked at that since, as the genuine steering damper always did the job as far as I’m concerned. ⭐️⭐️God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️

Started to replace the short heater hose, the one that comes from that metal pipe that runs down the side of the td5, only to find that the end of the pipe has corroded and needs replacing. Also continued my search for an OBD port, pulled up the plate between the seats, no luck, reckon some idiot has cut it off🙄

Few nice little jobs completed recently.

Finally managed to get my GORE bonnet hinges on, after having them for years. They look spot on, and if they last as well as the bulkhead brackets which look as good as the day they went on years ago I will be very happy.

Also put an ORE rear window guard in place and topped up the grease in the prop shafts. Just need to find time to give the underside its annual top up of Lanoguard now!

Need to get the replacement wing mirror arms on but need new hinges first - it's never ending! Rolling with laughter

If the steering is setup correctly then you don’t need the Terra damper. Mine was Censored where the spring on it kept uncoiling its self. That was years ago now have decent steering and a OME damper. Mainly as that’s what I run as suspension

Friday eve: 2hrs. Started taking the dash board apart again....2nd attempt at the lower dash flaps. The flap on the passenger side was not fully opening. Turned out to be a couple of things;

The control cable had slipped on the cable clamp
Where the cable goes through the metal plate over the air duct, the metal end of the outer cable had popped out the hole and the metal collar that was supposed to hold all in place had slipped.

I ended up putting a thread on the end of the cable outer and using two m8 nuts to hold it in place.

Saturday: 5hrs
Putting the dash back together

Sunday:
Replaced the rear mud flaps
Refitted the rear bumper steps
Tested the night heater in readiness for the rally this weekend at LLanbedr airfield. 1999 Defender TD5 110
