So having seen the coverage on another thread for the single din full screen units which look fantastic, and people's concerns about the lack of buttons, esp when bouncing around in a Defender, thought I would try this....
Click image to enlarge Wow, what a difference. Works seemlessly via Bluetooth to the head unit, instant connection and operates everything I need while on the move. Going to see about countersink ING it into the steering wheel "rubber" for a more seemlessly fit but so far so good. Click image to enlarge |

Finished pulling apart the front end, power-washed the inside of the wings.
Unbelievable how much dirt is built up inside after 35 years 😂. I've been pleased with the general lack of rust though! Click image to enlarge |

I have been procrastinating changing the front discs as I knew we were gonna get in a fight, me and the Landy. She's 17 years old now and no one has ever removed the hubs on the front axle as far as I can tell. Therefor the drive axle and the drive member is a solid piece of metal with no intentions of letting go from each other.
I've already been through this on the left side so this time I came prepared. Click image to enlarge I cut through the member so that the outer ring of it separates from the inner and could be removed. Click image to enlarge Then I carefully cut flush to the splines at opposite sides so that the inner ring is cut in half. Then I call for the rest of the family, daughter to apply the brakes and hold the steering wheel, wife to hold the crowbar steady, son to distract everyone by climbing around in the Landy, and me to kick the crowbar with all the force I can. Eventually it let go. Click image to enlarge Tried to clean the splines so I could fit the new member but no luck so far. Tomorrow will see new discs and pads, given that the pistons cooperate. Cheers! |

Replaced rear damper lower bushes today, standard dampers, but soon going to spare some time to fit the pin to pin type instead.

Got my steering wheel back from being retrimmed.
New leather and added a green strip at 12 o clock. I quite like it. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge |
