The pivot point for the clutch release arm wears over time, particularly if not greased when assembled. Same goes for the pins that the release bearing shoes sit on. The noise may be the result of this.

The heavy duty one on its own will last longer, but might not last as much as the original one but greased well on assembly. Note that I would suggest high temperature grease, so it does not melt on your first run.

When my fork failed, which is quite normal even with a standard good clutch, the only immediate available fork was the standard one. So I welded on a 6mm flat bar, that I kind or bored to fit better over the ball socket. After many many years of clutch use, I had refitted the fork as did not show signs of wear or imminent failure. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing
