The heavy duty one on its own will last longer, but might not last as much as the original one but greased well on assembly. Note that I would suggest high temperature grease, so it does not melt on your first run. When my fork failed, which is quite normal even with a standard good clutch, the only immediate available fork was the standard one. So I welded on a 6mm flat bar, that I kind or bored to fit better over the ball socket. After many many years of clutch use, I had refitted the fork as did not show signs of wear or imminent failure. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing 2012 90 CSW, 2.2TDCI, Santorini Black |

I bet you just need to pack some grease into the box where the other end of that clutch pedal connects under bonnet. There should be six screws to remove the top plate of the box.
Will take a pic when I get home of where I packed mine with grease last year and it solved a similar sound (although mine was a bit more โsqueakyโ sounding) ๐. [edit] Blue outline is where I packed grease: Click image to enlarge Doubt itโs the fork, mine just punched through and it had no noise at all prior to failing. [edit] Yellow is where the fork pushed through, currently waiting on that and a few other parts ๐ Click image to enlarge |
