Re-doing my electrical setup, Weird fuse question
Hey there, I'm a new owner of a 1985 Defender 110.

Slowing getting used to working on a car, having a blast.

As I'm studying my electrical setup I noticed that I have two electrical lines that just end in a fuse. That seems very weird to me. I'm no mechanic or electrician but as far as I understand electrical systems it does not serve any purpose. Am I wrong? The one in the picture can just be removed, but I have another that comes from the indicator lights that end in the same way.

Presumably clamped to the battery positive post..

It is likely to be a “tail” on a supply out for a supply that’s been removed that was fused in-line.
What they’ve done is instead of removing the entire supply line, they’ve disconnected it just after the fuse, so the fused spur is kept in place which could be used again or just taken away. ⭐️⭐️God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️

Great, thank you for the help. I'm definitely removing it since I'm doing a full clean-up here.

Yeah, if you are not going to use it, it makes sense to take it away.
I think they just left it in place in case it was going to be used again, perhaps so it doesn’t get lost or something like that.
