It is the reverse plunger spring. It is there to keep the gear stick going into 1st gear rather than reverse. You can remove it. Nothing will fall out. There are no gaskets there, just a metal shim. There should be no oil in that section of the selector... and if there is, then the O rings on the selector shafts may be a bit worn. Dear brothers,
I have one more doubt because I noticed a radiator hose leaking a few days ago (please see the attached photo - RED LINE). Previously, I noticed the coolant was missing, but I couldn't find the leaks as they were too small. Now, I can clearly see that the leaking is from the radiator hose, so I am going to flush everything. Do you guys know where the drain plug is located? I know the drain plug is from the engine block, but is there any difference for the driver's side, whether it is on the right-hand side or the left-hand side? (please see the attached photo with the BLUE LINE, the driver side is right hand side because I am from South East Asia). One more information, I just flushed last year around Sept without the drain plug (because I am not sure where) and I put the Nissan Coolant (GREEN) for 50:50. Thank you all Click image to enlarge ). The drain plug is on the left hand side of the engine block (drivers side for you). Shown circled on this photo:

Hello everyone,
I need some help or opinions again. When I changed my engine oil on June 2023, my intention was to also replace the oil filter housing gasket. However, I wasn't able to get it done at the time. Instead, I opened the waxstat adaptor and changed the O-ring, among other things. After screwing back the oil cooler pipe (as shown in the picture), I noticed leaks starting to appear. Fortunately, I recently noticed the leaks becoming very obvious when the engine is running, and I estimate that about 800ml to 1L of engine oil has been lost. As a response, I unscrewed the oil cooler pipe and applied white tape. This has improved the situation compared to before, but there is still a very minor leak, and I'm uncertain about how long this temporary fix will hold. Do any of you have an idea about this? Should I consider changing to a new oil cooler pipe? Or is it possible to unscrew it and re-fit it properly again? Dear all
As I'm planning to change my engine oil and refit the lift pump mounting plate gasket due to minor engine oil leaks, I'd like to know if any fuel will leak out when I remove the fuel lift pump? Can I use the Red Line 75W-90 GL-4 oil for the LT77, transfer case, and axle? Is it suitable for all these components? thank you |

If you undo the fuel lines, yes fuel will leak out, and air will go in the system, meaning you would probably have to bleed the fuel system. But if you just undo the lift pump from the engine block adaptor plate, or the adaptor plate itself from the engine block, leaving all lines attached to the pump, then no fuel will leak out.
The manuals calls for ATF for the LT77. I would stick with that, as it is also the oil recommended by transmission specialists. Hi, Dinnu, do you mean these four fuel lines (as shown in the picture below)? If yes, should I bleed it through the lift pump? For the gear oil, transfer case, and axle, ATF (Automatic Transmission Fluid) can be used, such as Red Line ATF D4? It should meet the Dexron II requirements, correct? Thank you Bro |

What you show above is the high pressure fuel lines from the injection pump to the injectors.
Do you mean you want to remove the injection pump? Its a bit more involving to remove the injection pump, as you would need to remove the timing belt.
