Interesting video. My 2.2 TDCi has the Nugget Stuff wing intake, K&N filter and Alive remap with a big intercooler. What I noticed the most when I installed the wing intake is a big improvement in throttle response. I'm sure there's more power too if I revved it out.

I notice that driving in heavy rain and spray that the air box does get some water in it, as it did with the standard intake. A drain in the air box is a requirement that the Alisport does not have; I'd be temped to drill my own.

A centrifugal precleaner is a better idea, but difficult if you want to keep the wing intake.

I have a feeling it’s the same size as the factory airbox, however I have a silicone adapter so I can run 4” pipework to the wing.

Yeah it’s the wing ductwork that is the real squeeze, I have a VNT to go on mine and want to upgrade while it’s apart. I’m out of touch with who does what I I don’t read the LR “Mags” they’re just a big advert

Almost the same setup as yours: Nugget Stuff intake & airbox, BAS remap, and Alive intercooler, and I also experience much, much better throttle response. Thumbs Up --

I have a Nak large-bore RAI leading to a Nuggetstuff filter and the throttle response and 'liveliness' is streets ahead of the standard arrangement, and ahead of the traditional Mantec-style RAI.

I expect they’ve tried to make an application for the widest market.

I have no doubt that is the case. They do look like they are standard size inlets. Still they are beautiful...

This is brilliant news, finally a decent alternative to the standard box as Nugget Stuff no longer make their alloy box.

I'll be ripping out my Nugget V3 as soon as the Allisport one arrives.

Nugget stuff don’t make anything any more as the owner (Wayne aka “Nugget” ) is now retired and closed the business.

Well that's also good news because the V3 was not a well made item.

I received my Allisport airbox yesterday and it looks to be of high quality and a bargain at £340 compared to the Nugget Stuff box too.

The air filters to fit the Allisport box are also cheap to replace and a common item rather than only being able to get ones that fitted properly from Nugget for £60.

Would like to see your install. Mine is on back order as there seems to be a huge demand for these. Hopefully will get mine in mid January.

After reading this thread I ordered one of the air boxes for my 2012 2.2 Tdci Defender. It arrived yesterday and was fitted. On my first test drive I got about 500 yards down the road and my engine management light came on and the vehicle went into limp mode. Checked air flow sensor and tried again - same thing. The vehicle has an Alive remap and upgraded intercooler. Rang Allisport and was told that's never happened before and was given an email address for their tec department. I am awaiting a reply.

Andy

I've yet to get the Defender to a garage to have fault codes read but will let you know when I do. The air intake was standard.

Cheers dave.. There was another thread a day or so ago about a mass air flow sensor fault.. It didn't involve the install of the system you have but equally odd..
No fault with air filter removed but a fault when it was installed.. .. I don't think any resolution to that has been posted yet..
Hope yours is quickly resolved.. Its a lovely looking air box👍
