Be warned if you change the engine power using the IID tool! If you do it the system records a permanent fault which will show up if you car is scanned by the dealers computer, it shows up as a power mismatch so your dealer will know that something has been done. JLR retrofits originally offered this change but stopped as it was being overwritten by dealers, they then started to re-offer it along with a software hack to prevent the dealer from seeing it, but it doesn't appear on their website anymore so maybe they have stopped again. Confused If anybody still wants to change it have a look at MultiCAN-580 Thumbs Up

l've had contact with LR Retrofits and they say the above is "incorrect" so l assume this means they can offer the upgrade.
l couldn't find it on their website, but as they stated the above is incorrect.

As to whether it needs software or it's already in the ECU, LR Retrofits wouldn't answer that. "We offer retrofit, activation and diagnostics, we do not provide information services" is what they put in their email to me.

l suppose if it is only activation that's required and not new software (l'll be surprised if this is the case tbh) then LR Retrofits won't want to reveal that, as they will lose business from people wanting the power upgrades.
That's just business practice. No company will reveal their secrets. l only asked them because l read on here that they were no longer offering the power upgrade so in that case they might be able to shed some light on it.

When we started this a little over 10 years ago, more often than not CCF changes required only changing a single setting in one ECU.

I remember when you launched it, I had a Disco 4 at the time and was using a Nanacom, I was a bit wary of spending all that money on a tool from a relatively unknown company but after using it for a couple of weeks I put the Nanacom up for sale and haven't looked back Thumbs Up Cheers Ian

They weren't particularly specific about what part was "incorrect" but it might have been the fact that they don't offer the power upgrade, or the above, or both.

lf anyone wants their services l would suggest just giving them a call. They seem to be a knowledgable outfit.

Premium LED Upgrade
Hi everyone - looking for some advice. I have a US-spec L663 110S that came with the basic LEDs. I bought a set of Premium LEDs on ebay and a GAP tool. Installed the new Premium LEDs and use the CCF to change

From: MultiCAN-679 HeadlightsVariant set to Headlamp_Variant_Low_C
To: MultiCAN-679 HeadlightsVariant set to Headlamp_Variant_Mid_C

I figured the Low=basic LEDs, Mid=Premium LEDs, and High=Matrix LEDs and then I kept it on C since I think that is USA.

The headlights work fine but the DRLs are not working so wondering if there are other settings I need to be looking at?

Thanks!

My car is a UK model and has the Matrix headlamps and are set to

MultiCAN-679 HeadlightsVariant
Headlamp_Variant_High_B

As for the DRL's, you could check some of these settings

MultiCAN-459 DRLVoltCtrl
DRLs - voltage control- disabled

MultiCAN-463 DRLBehWhilstDIsAct
Dim

MultiCAN-468 FntDRLType
Incorporated DRL and Pos

MultiCAN-470 DRLTransInteraction
Stay ON in park or neutral

MultiCAN-478 DRLFdbkMech
BCM receives fault data via LIN

MultiCAN-483 DRLDrvMech
Driven via LIN

MultiCAN-492 FntDRLProfile
Diagnostic Profile 1

Again these are what mine are set at Thumbs Up Cheers Ian

Thanks Ian, I think I have all the same other than the variant. Do I need to look at EUCD-016 Dayrunning Light? It's currently set at Standard dipped light, (Non-DTRL).

hi, thanks to Ian the drl settings are displayed, in theory your stock settings were supposed to make the drls work.
the correct setting is the one you write, mid=premium, c=usa.
To help you I need some information, have you purchased used headlights complete with control units? are the headlights from the US market as a reference number? (we trust....but hopefully the drls are working).
you can see the original chassis number of the headlight control units on ecu info, send mail button, save a complete description of all the ecu and see the chassis numbers referring to the headlights.
with the chassis numbers you can understand if it is a US market car.

Thanks Marco - lights were in very good condition. I believe the control units are there. Headlights work and the side DRLs come on for a couple of seconds then go off. Haven't seen Main DRLs (half circles) come on yet. The car is a US market car - at least I think it is as I bought it new in the US. I bought the Headlights from a US vendor on Ebay shipped from US address to me so assume they are US spec also. Attached are photos of the stickers.

I don't see the photo, you need to add it to the message, upload it to the system, and click on it.
insert a photo of the complete headlights.

I'm not sure, but looking around on the internet, it seems to me that FF is European market.....the lights of the American market, from what little I've seen, have different codes.

thanks Marco - I tried the other country settings also for
MultiCAN-679 HeadlightsVariantHeadlamp_Variant_Med_(A, B & C)
None of these setting made any difference to the main DRL. I just wonder if there are other CCF settings I need to be adjusting. I checked all the ones from Ian too.

hi, there are no other settings for the premium headlights, for the European market it is medium-A.
your bcm, the gateways of your car are for the American market, so it probably doesn't work with an ecu setting for the European market, I have never retrofitted on US cars, I hope you find a solution, otherwise you will have to find two control units premium headlights from the American market. Thumbs Up
