So the pressure should stay high after the pump stops, and the pump incorporates a non return valve?

It’s bafflingly hard to find a clear answer to this on any forum! There is discussion here but inconclusive: https://www.landyzone.co.uk/land-rover/td5...em.161412/

I can’t see how the pressure regulator would help- it just discharges fuel if over pressure.

And the NRV in the filter head is optional and only seems to stop fuel flowing into the return from the engine assembly.
