Excellent project and returning great results too judging by the photos. Keep 'em coming.
I am envious of the time you have to work on it. Reminds me of a Defender I spotted a while ago for £5995 with only 23000 miles on it. Wish I'd bought it now. http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic3882.html?highlight=%A35995 If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

I have done my first "proper" drive in the 90 this moring, Chippenham to Clevedon, about 45 miles along the M4, M5 - I was pleasantly surprised.
No nasty knocks or rattles, the temp guage seems to sit at a fairly steady temp. It cruised at a respectable 65-70mph. I thought I was going to be bounced all the way but it sits smooth and straight. The down sides are No heating, not fun at 6.30 Wind noise from the roof rack, may take that off. Radio not getting a good reception, can be sorted. So next big job on the list is the clutch then try and find out where the slack is coming from, I have heard that it could be the clutch (would make sense) or a whole list of other things. But overall very happy. PS I have a bull bar for sale if anybody is interested |

Bit of an update, my 90 tried to catch itself on fire last week, so its gone off to the car doctors, for a new loom. ooops!
Have got some chunky tyres to go on so that will be happening soon, hopefully will be all working for the 27th salisbury plain outing. |

Love this mat black look - so stealthy Anyone know where one can get those original looking Land Rover badges on the back? Mermoto Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated |

Bit of a setback this week, it seems that the old wiring loom is totally fried, its been bodged, and patched with the wrong wires so many times its a fire waiting to happen.
So I have just had to fork out £180 on wire, and luckily, i have a mate who is an auto sparky, so the fitting will cost me about £100. But in a word !!!!!! Last edited by mymini007 on 25th Feb 2012 3:37pm. Edited 1 time in total |

Love this story board. Can you tell me did you use the NATO black satin paint or something else?
How did you apply it? Roller or spray? If spray, did you use a compressor? I too am looking for a project and want to do something similar. Was really focussed on NATO green but the all black may look cool too. Here's my recent musings on my project. http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic10357.html 2016 D4 HSE 1998 110 TUM HS FFR Hard Top XD WOLF 1982 Series 3 SWB Petrol |

Halfords satin black from an aerosol, that way if it gets scratched I can patch it up with no problems. |

You're doing the entire car with aerosols? Is that cost effective? You must need hundreds of them?
Please keep the pictures coming, this is great inspirational stuff. 2016 D4 HSE 1998 110 TUM HS FFR Hard Top XD WOLF 1982 Series 3 SWB Petrol |
