Probably not but to have warm and comfortable footwear especially wellies does help.... it just depends what you do with them and how much you value your comfort and support for your ankles. Just to revive the thread i have a pair of KEVLAR soled Le Chameau wellies that i use 4 times a week and they are 6 years old and cost.... £375!!!! Totally tax deductable too!!!! 2008 RS4 gone, 123d M Sport, and a Puma 90 XS..

I suspect that endurance running up and down mountains places more strain on ankles than stalking yet I find that £80 shoes do the job fine. I suspect that spending several days out on exercise in the Brecons/Sennybridge, bivvying under the stars/rain places asks more of a pair of boots than a days stalking - yet £130 Lowas are hard to beat. However just like golf, there is often a "uniform" involved. With golf, maybe good walking clothes would be ideal but suddenly it's all ridiculous brogue style shoes, comedy trousers and very daft sun visors. I think with many of these "be seen" sports/hobbies the actual skill level becomes secondary to "the look." A mate of mine is a very keen surfer but happens to play off scratch. He turns up in the "wrong" gear, old clubs and shabby car and then thrashes most challengers with all the kit. Back on topic - have you sold the gun, scope and wellies yet?!! I had my last pair of Aigles (sorry french ) for years, just bought a new pair of Aigle Outlast because you do get what you pay for, but Red Dot this was obviously why you bought them - why sell them?
I'm guessing, but as they are now classed as secondhand you should be lucky if you get half of the retail price imo. Goodluck with the sale dude Wow that cardigan George Michael would have been proud! 2005 TD5 90 Hard Top Beer 'n Sex 'n Chips 'n Gravy |
