If you could afford the Roller you would have more to choose from than the Lada but a great off-roader if you could stand the smell of petrol... Your wife may be a horse lover but i bet she wears Toggi or LC or Hunters but for walking ALL day long LC are the best by far and nothing comes close. 2008 RS4 gone, 123d M Sport, and a Puma 90 XS..

I found these did a pretty good job... ...for walking all day. And all night. And all day again. etc, etc. And sleeping in. But now I'm getting old, I use these for my long distance hiking expeditions: Click image to enlarge Defender 110XS SW gone... now VW California 180 4 Motion. |

It is horses for courses when it comes to footwear when stalking. My problem is that I don't look where I am walking as much as I should when stalking as I am concentrating more on keeping the game in sight without it getting spooked by seeing me. This is where good supportive footwear comes in like Aigle and LC Chasseurs wellies as they are akin to wearing a good boot. Not only are they wellies but unlike most other wellies they are insulated and don't move about on your foot, and have excellent gripped soles when stalking over rough ground or in the treeline unlike other cheaper brands. As a side note on the farm I wear £10 jobbies from the local supplier as they are only used to keep the cow off my feet and it is on level ground. I would probably end up breaking my ankles if I wore them on the hills stalking.
If you stalk then you know how important good kit is and these wellies are good kit. Though expensive if you only intend to wear them in the snow/rain or to go to the supermarket in. The correct product for the job and all that. Just my tuppence worth |

think were on the take now lorry! i appreciate the value in a 300 boot if you need it...i got £7000 welding set, i also have a cheap one that does the same thing but i WANTED the best i could buy.... Think the OP was a bit curt the the lad who made an offer thats all, he knows it aswell. In hunters defence they have some fit birds who wear them....wouldn't want to see the LC catalogue! beards, dead things and tweed |

Interesting comments.
Vaguely similarly I'd never wear my (pretty cheap) wellies on a dog walk - because my ankles would snap on the many hills here. And I'd slip AoT. So I wear decent walking boots. I appreciate good footwear - I'm an endurance trial runner, triathlete and occasional mountain climber/scrambler. And always buy office wear. Just had no idea one could spend £300 on wellies!! TIG if i offered you £3,500 for your £7,000 welding set before you unwrapped it would you not regard the offer as being a bit cheeky? 2008 RS4 gone, 123d M Sport, and a Puma 90 XS..

cheeky yes, but it's a buyers market? what ever happened to a bit of bartering? what do you WANT for them? RRP is 300, dealer mark up 100% so thats 150, so say 200-225? |

If I admitted I wore Dunlop Puroforts with contoured leather insoles and they were much lighter (even with steel caps), grippier and more comfortable than Hunters, I suppose I would be a laughing stock. I was always different... Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |

Does someone actually own 23 pairs of wellies? That's more rubber than in a politician's wardrobe! Tell someone you love them today because life is short. But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing... |
