Defender 90 puma low milage but was used on a farm.
Thought I would share my project on here I have been working on it so about half way through now, but I have some photos from the beginning. It is a 2009 90 with 46k & FSH it belonged to a farmer from new so probably spent most its life off road & covered in dung & that stuff is like acid to steel & Alloy. Photo below is from a couple of year ago when I first got it I didn't realise how bad it was going to be (I bet some of you are laughing right now at that comment) & I should have known better as I have had defenders before.

Below photo is when I finished the shed land rover is sitting more or less in same place as photo above

during an inspection I saw the dreaded rear crossmember rot further investigation was frustrating as it turned out there was more in other parts of the chassis so started stripping it down

Thanks for the comments I have only just got the building warrant for the shed there was a lot of restrictions as to what I could put in, now I can start fitting it out. First thing will be a 2 post ramp as my knees are struggling kneeling or laying on the floor to work on things (that's what getting old does Crying or Very sad ). I joined it onto my garage & put an access door through so most of my stuff is still in there at the moment. I have got to say respect to all you guys that does this kind of project in a single garage or even worse on the driveway, I am still tripping over things with all this space.

When I started cleaning the axles I found that they were also rotten.

Someone had sealed the leak with filler / liquid metal or something had noticed it seeping just after I got it but thought it was just a seal

Starting the prep for the re-build, first I power washed & de-greased the galvanisation next coated it all in T-wash ready for paint. I didn't want the silver look for the chassis I also went for the Marsland chassis because it is basically identical to the original LR one also has chassis number in correct place.

That’s going to be lovely when it’s done.

Did you have the axle casing galvanised yourself? I’m contemplating doing mine. Where’d you buy the galvanised brake disc shields from?
