Thanks Rashers. Yes, sounds like you're in the same predicament as me. I had the same with LV house insurance too - had been a customer for years and then came up with a stupid premium last year - renewed with A-Plan of all people!
To Jerry's point, I am awaiting call backs from NFU and Lancaster but not holding out too much hope. NFU were always really expensive but here's hoping their premiums haven't increased by the same level which means they may now be "reasonable" compared to the quotes I've received thus far. I'll let you know if I have any success...... |

Some people swear by NFU, some swear about them.
There have been probably just as many successes as there has been people who were refused cover or got an astronomically high price. last time I tried with them they were three times the price of A-Plan as they were. But that was a few years back and I will give them the benefit of the doubt and try them again. I guess it is just down to that Postcode Insurance Lottery. But I found it quite ironic that the quitisential ‘farmers insurer’ refused cover Land Rover Defenders like they will start refusing to insure tractors I mean, good God, it’s like Land Rover insurance not wanting to cover their own products |

I have my current renewal from NFU, and it has gone up £6.00 over what I paid last year.
If anything my 2002 HT (with mods) has been consistent over the fourteen years I’ve had it. My wife’s Velar jumped up in price last year and £200 this year, but each time a phone call saved some money. |

Mark, it seems to be the late model 110 USW's that are getting the ridiculous increases. Hoping my 2007 90 Van will be exempt from those increases like your 2002! |

NFU came through for me thankfully. Still a walloping increase on last year's £434 at £914 but better than Howden/A-Plan's £1100 and Flux's £1800. |

I was fearing the worst having had a big increase on another vehicle plus a claim on that car too, but Defender just renewed with A Plan, quote was same price it’s been for that last few years. I actually got the price down a bit further by limiting my mileage and removing an additional driver. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

@Jim_Bean - That was my worry with NFU. What was the reason for the refusal - too many mods?

This was my renewal from Admiral and still the cheapest. NFU wanted £4000.
