I would give Pete Bell at BAS a call as he is the GAP agent in the UK Thumbs Up Gas, Grass Or Ass - Nobody Rides For Free

So it looks like time to buy this unit, as it's working for the things l want to do such as the stop/start memory

l looked on the GAP Diagnostic website and it still says Defender L663 "coming soon"

Also there's a couple of options, one at £500 the other at £2,000
Hopefully the £500 one will be all l need.

And it mentions "subscription" at a further £500 per year. Obviously this is really designed for repair garages and dealers.

As a private buyer, buying a unit to work on their own vehicle only, would l still need to pay the £500 subscription to get the unit to work?

It is still "coming soon" for the general public as we have not yet released the software to the public in general. But as Patrick said in the first post in this thread, we are accepting beta testers for a pre-release software version.

As for the versions of the IIDTool: there is the IIDTool BT designed for the individual (end user) and the IIDTool Pro, obviously designed for the... Pro user. Only the Pro has a subscription fee as our interaction with technicians using the IIDTool in a repair shop is much more intense and regular, not only in support of solving problems on the vehicles but also for software updates on vehicle ECUs, etc.

Functionality included in the BT is the same as in the Pro. An IIDTool BT has a VIN lock on advanced functions such as CCF editing and programming whereas basic functions are free of a lock. As what we classify as basic functions is basically equivalent to all functions available on a Lynx or Hawkeye or similar, a regular IIDTool BT is on the same level as the Pro versions of these tools. Obviously a Pro is completely VIN lock free.

However l was already in touch with Duckworth.

l left a message and received a call the next day from Sophie. She was very helpful and l've ordered the unit at around £430

Hi guys.

I've found some posts about to enable the 'WalkAwayLocking' but could not find about the 'Approach Unlocking' on this topic.

I tried to enable 'Approach Unlocking' and succeeded.
My vehicle is MY23.5 without fuel tank flap locking.

MultiCAN-807 Approach Unlocking
from: Disabled
to: Enabled

So could you please add this to the list?

Regards.

I know somebody asked about stopping the mirrors to unfold or fold automatically but I can't find the post at the moment, whoever it was may like to have a play about with this setting and see if that works how you want it Thumbs Up

MultiCAN-703 Exterior Mirror Auto Unfold
Automatic External Mirrors Unfold Enabled

If it does report back and let us know Thumbs Up Cheers Ian

That was me! l've got the unit on the way to me so will have a look at that when l get a chance, and report back on here.

lf l disable the auto fold/unfold then hopefully they will still work using the buttons on the inside of the door.
As there are some occasions when l do need to fold the mirrors.

A complete mirror assembly (mirror with housing, arm and swivel) on my old Defender was £25.
l imagine this one costs a bit more than that.

Thumbs Up Let us know when you have tried it, glad Sophie got back to you also. A new mirror assembly is £495 which in the scale of things isn't too bad, I've just had to get a door mirror for my daughters Kia Picanto, which only has electronic adjustment and that was £454 plus painting Shocked Big Cry Cheers Ian

That's pretty neat! Tried both and both work well. I don't have the soft close doors but when I just press the button the door keeps staying in its "safety position" not closed yet not open.

So when you push against the door from the inside and press the button then, the door opens. It's magic! Sleeping in the Fender just got so much better!

Anyone tried to activate ACC since the new update?

I have tried to enact ACC since the update. These are the CCF’s I changed:
EUCD - 023 Cruise Control
Old - Without Cruise Control
New - Adaptive Cruise Control

MultiCAN - 497 IntelEmerBrkingCUIB
Old - IEB not Fitted
New - IEB Fitted

MultiCAN - 580 PTCruiseFitment
Old - Normal Cruise Fitted
New - ACC with Queue Assist Fitted

MultiCAN - 712 ACC Stop Gap Select
Old - Not Supported
New - No change

MultiCAN - 809 ACC Stop Gap Setting
Old - Not Fitted
New - Fitted

When I make these changes, my cruise no longer works as well as the LKA quits.
I also still receive the Emergency Braking Disabled 😞

Still chugging away!

l've received my GAP tool today!

The operation of the tool seems quite involved, the instructions are online and run to 185 A4 pages. As a minimum l've had to print pages 34-65 which seems to be the setup instructions.

As a lot of the pages have text boxes it uses a lot of printer ink, l don't fancy trying to read it all on my ipad, particularly as it's the same device l will be using to operate the tool.

Hopefully once l download it all l'll be able to make sense of it.

I'm still toying with the idea of making a purchase.
Do we have a DEFINITIVE list of the options that it will enable 100%?
Seems a lot of people are having mixed results.
I want it to work and I want to buy one but if I can't be 100% sure of the results I'll get then it makes the purchase a bit more risky 110 D250 SE HT
