Just a Sunday update.
A small accident while cutting the windscreen rubber brought things to a halt for this week. Nothing too serious, but rather not infect it. Well spotted. Actually when I took that picture I was not going anywhere without the rear half shaft but since installed the shaft and driving member... awe and the wheel nuts too Thanks, they are aftermarket, but seem well built. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing 2012 90 CSW, 2.2TDCI, Santorini Black |

Took a while as needed to wait for my finger recovery 😌 but glad that another part of the puzzle is ready. First time to fit a Landrover windscreen, so was a bit edgy until it went in all the way.

Cheers BlackPuma. Indeed, as I bolt something on, I just take a few steps back and just look at it
The colour was actually not my choice.. as this 90 has an interesting history when it was purchased... so I could not get to choose the colour. In the 90s, the colours screamed 80s or even 70s, and as a young driver then, I would have liked a more modern colour. But now I love it, and very glad that I chose to keep the original shade. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing 2012 90 CSW, 2.2TDCI, Santorini Black |

So true, funny how our perspectives change. And now you have the best of both, a more modern black one and a very nice authentic 80's blue. Looks so nice with that wheel colour.

Dinnu what a cracking build so far! I had a flick through every page, since my last reply. Me and my dad were in the same boat with the rover metro vvc 10 years ago, putting the car back together getting ready for the 1st start. So i know the feeling with pulling engines out again, we had to replace the engine with another one sadly, not very fun having a car practically ready then pulling it to pieces again.
Also where did you get your heat shield on the turbo? My dads after one for his 200 TDi, Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back Success is 90% Inspiration and 4 minutes Preparation # you can make it! |

Thank you James and Protca.
Re the turbo heat shield, its is the original one that came out with the 90 in 1988. But I know the prices for those was crazy expensive before they stopped manufacturing. It looks like it is made out of fiberglass, so would not be that difficult to reproduce. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing 2012 90 CSW, 2.2TDCI, Santorini Black |
