Personally for me,
It’s got to be soldered, and heat shrink. I also use heatshrink terminals too, which are nice to use. 80" 80" 86" 88" 90" Wanted, Forward Control Anything considered. Last edited by ian series 1 on 28th Mar 2018 9:03am. Edited 1 time in total |

H You could use "self amalgamating tape" it bonds to its self to make a waterproof seal. some sparks on hear will tell you better. I remember the sparks offshore using it but get a good quality one like 3M maybe.

Self amalgamating tape works, but personally I cut and splice.
For small joints I use the self soldering heat shrink joints, for larger joints I use heat shrinkable crimps. https://www.beal.org.uk/electrical-product...ge-25.html https://www.beal.org.uk/electrical-product...r-red.html |

Self amalging tape makes weather-proof joints, heat-shrink sleeving doesn't.

You can get self sealing heat shrink which makes waterproof joints. I can't remember what it's called now but my mate had some and it's brilliant stuff 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

Is that in a tape form? If it is sounds ideal for making a non cutting splice! 2010 Defender 110 Station Wagon, Santorini Black.

I've looked at it on you tube. Looks great
I'll try this one time. First solder it and then this tape. As far as i can judge it, it's works the same as heat shrink sleeves but then with glue (should also be watertight). a defender from 1984 pretending to be a puma with a touch of Range Rover |

Adhesive-lined heatshrink will be weatherproof if properly formed.

Is this the one you mean? Looks great however, I checked on various electronics web sites, unfortunately it’s horrendously expensive! 2010 Defender 110 Station Wagon, Santorini Black. |

Why i like this product that you don’t need heat. And sometimes when fixing wires the absence of a flame can be benificial Ahum a defender from 1984 pretending to be a puma with a touch of Range Rover
