P38 is a rover diff. The non rover diff is the Salisbury diff fitted to early 110’s

I have a 2009 Defender Puma 90 CSW. I Fitted Disco 1 solid drive shafts on the back. Got rid of 50% of the knock on drive. Just fitted the new adjustable A Frame Ball Joint and the knock is now gone. For now. For normal driving I would say Disco 1 rear solid shafts all the way.

Does anyone know if the 1 piece shafts (Part Numbers FTC3270 & FTC3271) fit a 110 Puma? 2008 2.4 110 Utility Station Wagon XS.

Nice update. I’ve managed to hunt down a pair of genuine LR HD single piece driveshafts going at not too unreasonable price.

Looking forward to getting rid of the 2 piece clunkers. 2008 2.4 110 Utility Station Wagon XS.

Would these be the britpart one piece rear half shafts to buy? The drive flanges on my defender have had a big amount of slack for years always noticeable when pulling away, had always been expecting splines to start slipping, have done 130K miles so have done okay and could do with replacing them when sorting a few other things...

£130 would be a decent price?

I brought a good pair of disco single piece shafts from a breaker for £20, they have been on the car for several years with no issues (shafts are smaller diameter but who knows what material), I tow a caravan and it is lightly tuned no issues so far. DEFENDER 90 TDCI XS,

I hope everyone is well and your land rovers make you happy

Yes I had a few tdi discovery's before the defender funnily enough I broke my last one for spare parts, Listed the back axle with about £50 starting bid it had recent disc/pads and calipers at the time. Only had one bid so somebody got a absolute bargain there...

About a year into defender ownership the rear diff pin bolt sheared and the discovery one would've fitted that, upgraded it to a ashcroft atb Laughing

Even with the discovery shafts being a slightly smaller diameter I'd assume they'd be stronger than the two piece parts probably need to be do some big burnouts or extreme off roading to snap or twist them Thumbs Up

Looking for a opinion ordered these half shafts from maltings 4x4 (in link i posted above) and they've sent two different brands the longer one has a thick end flange and thicker shaft whereas the short one has a thinner shaft and more curved less beefy flange end

I think ones a britpart HD shaft and the other is a allmake 4x4 discovery 1 type replacemen, sure it would do the job but contemplating contacting them to see if it can be exchanged for the heavy duty type which is what I expected as a pair

Do you think I'm being fussy?

I'll upload some photos to show difference between shafts...

I would call them mistakes happen, I’ve always found them very good to deal with.
