Top job there, and a little upgrade as well at the same time. Wink

Was there much wear on the original door catches? ⭐️⭐️God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️

Those X Trouser catches are great. Very nicely made and do seem to work as intended. Darren

I must try and get a pair of those one day, good to hear they are popular.
I've caught myself in the factory ones many times like others have. ⭐️⭐️God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 ⭐️⭐️

Well, this Saturday just gone, Millie went in for another one of her 6,000 miles services Very Happy

All ok and went well, got the new disc's and pads on the back and feeling much better now Thumbs Up

As i heard a knocking sound which i thought might be the shocks, so i asked my indy to have a look and it turns out that one of the bushes on the " A " frame has gone so they will get changed this coming Saturday Very Happy

At the same time she was in, she had a little present/upgrade/tidy up . . . .

So about a couple of weeks ago on the way home from picking up the wife from work, i had this type of squeaky noise that i had not heard before, so i tried to find it and pinned it down to the drivers door, so before i had a chance to have a good look at it, the problem was found by catching my jumper sleeve on the bit of plastic that goes around the thing you lock and unlock the door with was loose Rolling Eyes Very Happy
The weekend just gone i made a start on taking the door card off and with it all exposed i saw the problem, the plastic bit had totally broken .....

At the same time i set about fixing the well known week spot on the door as i did try to fix this a few years ago but to no avail Rolling Eyes
I started of with the bolt that secures the window mechanism as a good point then i got a good piece of metal and filed the cut edges smooth, then drilled a hole for the bolt to go through, then bent it to the right angle and then drilled the other hole in the door ....

Then the piece of metal in place and a nut and bolt on the right hand side ...

With this done the door was back to normal, no flex in it and nice and firm, i always keep plenty of stock for breakages and so with the new part in ....

Then just to put the door card back on ......

What a difference the piece of metal has made, the door shuts spot on with a good solid sound and i'm well happy with the outcome Very Happy

Has it split there? If has you can get some eproxi resin stuff that you use to bond panels to gether with. That will sort that out . Me and my dad used it on his battery box and rivited the thing together. Solid as a rock now! Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back
