Took off the grilles tonight, good time to clean and replace any worn screw plugs... I fitted the adventure front but it was too dark for pictures... A little more room behind the winch which I don't mind.
Click image to enlarge Will make a start on the over head player next I think, most of the kids stuff is always on a Memory stick so I need to have the USB connection available in the rear. Makes sense to put it in the cubby tray so printed a little surround and good to go. Hi Andy,
Great work all round, I'm loving watching it all come together. The one negative as I have major envy on so many of your additions! Looking forward to seeing the grill in place I hope you don't mind me asking but can you tell me where you got it from, as I have been considering one for the 110. Keep up the fine work. Cheers, Leon. |

Lovely job Andy
liked your 90, but this 110 is amazing! Definitely the best vehicle on here, with some great work going into it. Nice updates aswell. 10/10 Tom |

Thanks Guys!
Got the front end all back on, really very pleased.. The nasty flaking plate is gone, and I have a bit more clearance now between the winch and grille... It just all looks a better factory fit which is what I wanted. Click image to enlarge I picked it all up from my local dealer who has been great help getting me all the bits and pieces. Hi Andy, Seeing the sub frame and your umbrella just poked in the rear seats.... I wonder if there is room under the seat drawers to run a tube side to side to hold the umbrella? Just a thought

Andy, a question.
How did you go about replacing your cubby box lid? Did you pry loose the interior side panel lining and then take out the three or so staples holding the ribbon of the standard lid? And did you then restaple the ribbon with the FCX lid? And how did you reattach the interior lining afterward? Glue? Thanks, Eric You never actually own a Defender. I was thinking more a tube hidden in the sub frame, so you slide the umbrella out when the door is open. A touch of Rolls Royce with the umbrella hidden in the door
Ericvv - when I changed my cubby lid for an FCX one I just slide a screw driver downwards between the ribbon and box and prized out the staples. Fitted new lid, pushed ribbon back between lining and cubby, I secured the ribbon with a screw/D clasp (to hang keys on) which also held lining back in place. |
