England 2002 Defender 110 Td5 SW Coniston Green
I was at the Malvern Show all weekend, we had all the weather highs and lows, Friday night was a tadge damp, Saturday fairly good and woke up on Sunday to some glorious sunshine. I actually managed to get my awning down dry which helped as it was a litte damp from last weekend packing up on a damp Bank Holiday Monday. It was just a shame that when I dropped and packed our Clubs marquee away it was raining but at least it's made of stuff that doesn't go mouldy like a tent does.
The Show itself seemed to be a lot less busy than last year, fewer Club stands/displays and certainly less autojumble on the Saturday though a few more turned up on the Sunday. Not trying to be critical but the ring has got a bit sameish but that's a really difficult thing to overcome, the show that finds the magic answer would stand to make a fortune and get the footfall through the gate.
Whilst some of the prices on the autojumble were a bit optimistic there were some deals to be had, I've been waiting for a rear prop to replace mine on my 110 for about three weeks now, it's on backorder from Bearmach from my local motor factors that deal direct but I noticed a whole selection on a stall so back to mine, unbolt the prop and take it along to compare. Mine is a 2002 Td5 so has the later 4 pin diff not the Salisbury so is the same as a "last of the line" fitting. In the pile was a couple of tdci 110 props and I just wanted to make sure they were the right length as there were others taken off Td5 110's that were around 3" longer. So for £20 I have a second hand rear prop that not only is newer but will have a damned site less miles on it than the one it has replaced. Allthough if I left it a fortnight I could be pleased to think that it had lasted 200K Whistle

Replaced my valve caps for new ones just like these.

They are metal not plastic rubbish. Pretty trivial but there you go.
They don't cost sod all even if the did grow legs...

Other than that, I haven my steering lock stops to adjust as soon as I have time.

And bought a new vinyl wheel cover, waiting on delivery of it. No Guts, No Glory.

For the first time in more years than I can remember, I got a puncture on the way back from Dunsfold, less than a mile from home. Tubed tyres, so I heard the bang and it was on the rim in seconds. I was just on the approach to a roundabout, so had to continue for about 50 yards to get somewhere safe.

No obvious cause but the tyre is now trashed. I had inflated the rears to 40psi only the day before as the Land Rover was quite loaded, but who knows if that was a factor? I have, however, just managed to pick up a nearly new matching tyre on a rim as a replacement.

The only saving grace was that I was carrying my newly assembled jack kit! I hadn't been carrying one at all until last weekend Shocked
