Quiet with work so I'm checking and touching up the Dinitrol on the chassis and painting the drive flanges in the sunshine

Paddled my way to work avoiding 2 newly crashed vehicles and all sorts of bad driving.
Having thought I had sorted most of the leaks the sopping wet passenger seat and foot wells on both sides has lead me to believe I haven't Everything steaming up and now not having a passenger in the morning to keep the passenger side window clear reminded me of deepest darkest winter, shame its nearly June! Still Webasto did a sterling job of keeping the engine warm and a constant supply of warm-ish air to waft towards the windscreen. Really need to look at getting a new roof as i think this one has had it Got to try and stop myself looking at 130's and 110 utilites I cant afford now Running Restoration Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/post323197.html#323197 Self confessed mileage hunter |

Added rear grab handles.
Did not want to remove the seat belts bolt, so I went the rivnuts and spacers way. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Yes, not the cleanest way, but will do. |

Not today but over the weekend, went camping with the boy and we woke up to the sound of burners, lots of burners....
Click image to enlarge I'm slightly ashamed to admit I cleaned and erm...polished the pick up. There is a first time for everything, but when you need to wipe your feet when you get out that time has come. |

Added a removable steering wheel from Exmoor Trim ... its a little smaller than the original but feels nice to drive with so far, and its a little bit closer to me, and I have to take my hand off the wheel to use the indicators etc... but so far so good!
It’s going to be useful when we go camping as my bed goes under the steering wheel normally, so I”ll have a bit more room now - plus its another level os security ! You can get a much thinner boss than that two that you don't need to take your hands off the wheel to reach the indicators try go beyond on here or optomil!

I use the Bolt on Bits slim line boss (it is a lot slimmer than the photo looks) and I have no problem with reaching the controls.. The do a 48 and 36 spline version,

I've got the Bowler slimline boss which is very nice and slimmer than my previous boss, which was the RDX as per Gilarion's post. I'm probably going to trial this quick release as they claim only 5cm closer to the driver which I think is just about doable.

Well yesterday really, swopped the gearbox and transfer box for one with less miles on and no leaks and rattles. The input shaft on the original was a little floppy, well quite a lot of movement and grinding even by turning it by hand.
Makes such a change not having to find alternative parking when visiting to avoid dripping oil on people's driveways |

Washed both mine and the wife's today in the glorious sunshine. First time they've been washed in ages and tar from roadworks the wife had driven through was awful to get off Ray
