Visited Neuchatel today, parked the truck on a very very steep slope, steeper than it looks in the picture. I had to pull the parking brake to a few more than the 3rd click I usually do, but it is confirmed, my parking brake works very well.

The possibility is quite high as in the last week someone has tampered with the outside security light, I will have to get some replacements ordered in the morning. Don't make old people mad. We don't like being old in the first place, so it doesn't take much to us off. Richard |

Fitted the roof rack I purchased from a forum member, two issues, the wind deflector caught the sunroof and drivers doors was so tight to the top of frame. Had door looked at by an Indie and now I've adjusted it so not catching the gutter clamp. Removed wind deflector so rack lined up correctly. Painted the brackets black and fitted the number plate to the rack, hoping I'd not need to modify the wind deflector. Went up and down the 329 and no wind noise so no need to modify and refit the deflector. _______________________________

So, having spent a good couple of hours, and then some, stripping the paint from and cleaning my old Tow Ball, with a view to re-priming and painting it black again...
Click image to enlarge I rather like it stripped nekkid and unpainted and am now in two minds... Whaddya'll think... Rog... The GREEN One... Jomara - Very nice.
Venomator - I have the same NAS step as you and tow ball and hitch. I painted mine without primer originally to see what it looked like, I liked it but quickly looked tatty. I stripped it back and fitted again and left it, I don't mind it bare now. Main reason being that however well you paint it, it will wear WILL make it worn and tatty. I also have mine fitted in the lower position, if ever you tow you'll find it'll be far too high in that position. Even at the lowest position I find that it's still a touch high for my Ifor but not enough to worry about, especially for a <750kg trailer. |

Thanks Steve, really appreciate the feedback... And thanks for the towing tips, being new to Defender Life, I was not sure which of the pair to use (the tow ball was loose when I picked the truck up!), so it's useful to know the lower pegs are the ones to use... Thanks guys
A NAS step is on my wish list, but I'm not 100% sure about the tow all height as I regularly tow my 22' tilt bed trailer, do you have a drop plate on yours Steve? 2014 110 2.2TDCi XS Station wagon 1971 Bowler Tomcat 88 4.2 V8 Auto 2022 110 D250 XS Edition - Gone 2024 110 D250 X-Dynamic HSE |

Veno -
Jomara - No drop plate on mine, but others have used one. The towing nose height on mine on an 8ft trailer is a touch high but not too bad, I'm not too worried with a light trailer. On a big trailer with more length it would be more of an issue, just use a thick regular drop plate. Last edited by custom90 on 7th Sep 2014 8:38pm. Edited 1 time in total |

Cool, my trailer is a beaver tail and catches kerbs and rocks already.
