The additional towing electrics loom connects, in general terms, in two different places depending on type. The 12N loom, i.e. standard 7 pin lights only, connects to a multiplug under the rear OS wheel arch directly under the speaker cover. The 12S loom for the 7 pin caravan supplementary socket runs forward to the under seat battery box. The 13 pin loom, which combines both of the '12' types, connects in both places.
The multiplug behind the speaker cover is a spur from the vehicle-side towing electrics loom and exists, or existed, on all vehicles regardless of whether towing sockets were fitted. It appears to have been deleted from MY13 though. Darren 110 USW BUILD THREAD - EXPEDITION TRAILER - 200tdi 90 BUILD THREAD - SANKEY TRAILER - IG@landroveranorak "You came in that thing? Checked it all out with multi meter & no power at black & purple plug.
All fuses seem to be fine. Can't see any in line fuses, may have to investigate further. I can't believe it's just not a fuse in the box. Got me baffled. Any suggestions ? |

This supply is permanent live so it's not a complicated circuit. If the fuse is ok then there's a fault somewhere and the only solution is methodically checking. Is power getting to the fuse, for example? Darren

Darren,
Yes power to the fuse as the towing electrics are working. Unless its a different fuse, but all fuses are ok. Martin |

DiscoStu - not for a MY13 - at least not for mine. I only have a connection for the rear lights: Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Admin note: this post has had its images recovered from a money grabbing photo hosting site and reinstated |

As I said earlier, the spur from the vehicle-side towing electrics loom has been deleted from MY13. However, as Tim said, the towing electrics loom itself is still in place in the wheel arch directly below the area shown in your first picture, so it can be picked up from there without too much trouble. It's no longer plug-n-play, though. Darren

All sorted now guys.
Thanks for all the info. Got auto electrician to take a look & he sussed it. At some time someone has wired in a separate switch & relay which is where the problem was. Now connected back to original wires & all is working. Now means cool beers in the fridge in the back. |

yesterday I installed a 12v socket inside the glovebox and connected to the 12v socket on the dash centre, nice out of the way place to charge stuff or run the satnav without having cables near the gearstick.

That's the multiplug connector for the towing electrics. They all have one of those. Darren 110 USW BUILD THREAD - EXPEDITION TRAILER - 200tdi 90 BUILD THREAD - SANKEY TRAILER - IG@landroveranorak "You came in that thing? You're braver than I thought!" - Princess Leia |

Yes, but on a MY13 that's where you need to go back to to get the purple 12v feed. My Disco 'best bits'
